When you think about workplace hazards, what comes to mind? Heavy machinery, sharp tools, or maybe even slipping on a wet floor? While these are all important safety concerns, there's...
Floor sanding is a process used to improve the appearance and condition of wooden floors. It involves removing the top layer of the wood's surface, which may be scratched, worn, or discoloured, to reveal a fresh, smooth layer underneath.
Getting the job done quickly and efficiently comes down to using the right tools for the job. That's where Mirka comes in. Our high power and low vibration sanders are a must have in the flooring industry, and for sanding with floor sanding machines that take 125mm or 150mm discs, Mirka abrasives ensure a quality finish.

Belt Sanding
Heavy stock removal requires a tough cloth or paper
backed abrasive to resist tearing.
A 36 to 80 grit abrasive like Hiolit Xo will work best when heavy stock removal is required as well as the removal of lacquer or oil.
Heavy duty Disc Sanding
A net backed abrasive enables a longer life due to less clogging and burning to a conventional product.
The Abranet Ace HD net backed product is efficient for removing old lacquer or oil and the product has a good tear resistance.
Using a floor sander
Some floor sanders are configured to be used with 125mm discs and some with 150mm discs. Both Galaxy and Abranet Ace will give exceptional results for sanding prior to coating and during intermediate sanding.
Mirka storage cases
Mirka Storage Cases make it easy to transport tools and abrasives on-site and store them easily and safely without risk of them getting damaged.
