Self-sharpening ceramic grains for longer use
When paired with a Mirka DEROS and dust extractor, Galaxy affords the user a virtually dust free sanding experience. However, since the entire surface of the disc facilitates dust extraction, Galaxy can be used to augment the capabilities of any random orbital sander or sanding block that uses air inlets to extract dust.
Mirka Galaxy Abrasive Discs 125mm are for the Mirka Deros Sanders.
Mirka Abrasive Discs feature a hook and loop back making it easy to attach to your sander.

What makes Mirka Galaxy different from other abrasives?
Mirka Galaxy abrasives feature self-sharpening ceramic grains, which keep the abrasive sharp throughout its use, making them longer-lasting and more efficient.
How does the self-sharpening technology work?
As the abrasive grains wear down, they break apart to form new sharp edges, maintaining consistent cutting performance over time.
What materials can Mirka Galaxy abrasives be used on?
They are versatile and can be used on a wide range of materials, including wood, metal, composites, painted surfaces and more.
Are Mirka Galaxy abrasives compatible with dust extraction systems?
Yes, they feature multi-hole patterns for optimized dust extraction, which helps maintain a cleaner work environment and improves the sanding process.
How durable are Mirka Galaxy abrasives?
Mirka Galaxy abrasives are designed to be highly durable due to their self-sharpening ceramic grains and clog-resistant coating, which reduces the build-up of dust and debris.
Can Mirka Galaxy be used for both rough and fine sanding?
Yes, they come in a range of grits, from coarse to fine, making them suitable for various stages of sanding, from heavy stock removal to finishing.
What are the available grit sizes for Mirka Galaxy?
Mirka Galaxy abrasives are available in a wide range of grit sizes, typically ranging from P40 to P2000, depending on the specific application.
Are Mirka Galaxy abrasives suitable for machine or hand sanding?
They are designed for both machine and hand sanding, but they are most effective when used with orbital or random orbital sanders.
How do Mirka Galaxy abrasives help save time and money?
The long-lasting self-sharpening grains, resistance to clogging, and compatibility with dust extraction systems reduce the need for frequent abrasive changes, leading to faster work and lower costs.
What industries benefit most from using Mirka Galaxy abrasives?
They are ideal for industries such as woodworking, automotive refinishing, marine, and metal fabrication, where versatility and efficiency are key.

Good Abrasives
Good selection of abrasives. Used both an 80 grit and 240 grit which provided a good level of metal removal and finish. I would recommend over big box store products.

Best sanding discs yet!
I received my mixed box of 125mm Mirka Galaxy discs from Best Abrasives a little while ago...that stuff is amazing!
I let the 80 grit go on a piece of rough sawn Camphor Laurel and it was smooth in a couple of minutes. Very impressive compared to other brands...I'll be back for more! 🙂
I was having difficulty sanding back spotted gum screens with regular 40 grit paper as the paper was wearing out too quickly and not particularly effective. I bought these hoping for an improvement and they are. Much more effective at removing the existing finish and they last at least 2 or 3 times longer. A couple of comments: 1. it’s much easier to score the surface with the same amount of pressure as regular paper so a much lighter touch is required. 2. The velcro doesn’t seem as sticky as other brands, so it often shifts around on the sanding back and I did have a couple of occasions when the sanding disc flew off. I use a metabo sander in case that makes the difference. I am happy to have found them as they make a truly awful job somewhat easier. Was shipped quickly.
